The Darkmoon Faire is in full swing again, from now until Jan. 7. The event has run into some issues this month, but it’s still a grand ol’ time overall. Many of you are still working on your Darkmoon Faire achievements, however, and others still have yet to step onto the new Darkmoon Island at all.

So what can you do at the Faire? What games are there to play? What achievements can you earn? All of those questions and more are answered in our Guide to the new Darkmoon Faire. Don’t miss it.

It’s a little hard to believe that Cataclysm has been out for a year. About this time last year, we all stood in line to get hold of our own little piece of Deathwing. Folks flooded back to Azeroth to see the changes, roll worgen and goblins, and embrace a little bit of WoW once again. But like every expansion before it, Cataclysm lost some players after a few months. People quit the game. (Shocking, I know!)

With the final raid of the expansion upon us, plenty of players are coming back around to the game. After all, if you want to get the essential Cataclysm experience, it’s now or never. It won’t be too long before the world of Azeroth is overrun by pandas, monks, and even more pandas. So, if you’re exploring Azeroth once more, here are the things you absolutely shouldn’t miss.

No wonder Deathwing has been such a crank lately! The other aspects have trapped him in a pool of quicksand, and a bunch of raiders are trying to stomp on his left hand. All the black dragon wants to do is soak in his giant hot tub and practice playing his invisible piano — but no, you and that silly orc had to interrupt him. Now the world must burn! (Thanks to Loronar of Dark Days on Eredar [US-A] for this eagle’s eye picture of the Madness of Deathwing encounter!)

Oh, hey, it’s a sheer drop into nothingness. Reminds me of one of the approximately 1,000 mountains I’ve fallen off while playing Skyrim this week. For a relatively easy sandbox game, I’ve died a truly depressing number of times. But then again, we’ve been there before. Whether stepping on a land mine in Fallout 3, getting caught stealing by the guards in Morrowind, or simply being savaged by angry mutant bears in just about all of its games, Bethesda Softworks will always find new and inventive ways to kill me. How has your Skyrim adventure been going, readers? (Thanks to Bakthar of Trouble and Strife on Khaz’goroth [US-H] for the screenshot!)

I'm not even sure

Well, I’m not exactly sure what’s going on here. I think it’s the nightmare vision you have if you fall asleep face down in a strawberry daiquiri. The translucent spirit of Kerrowyn of ExtendedCredit on Azuremyst (US-A) looks like she was about to reap the soul of the corpse on the right but was moved by the deceased’s heartfelt dramatic speech and decided to spare her.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms, moms-to-be and guilty pleasure watchers of 16 and Pregnant out there! Acosta and Marashka of Heavens Darkness on Madoran (US-H) snapped this pic last fall of a baby hippogryph meeting its mommy. Confidential Mother’s Day message to my unborn niece: Get out. You’ve spent 39 weeks just lounging around rent-free, doing nothing but gestate and kick my sister, while everyone else has to go work. Come on out and join the real world, slacker baby!

Every week, WoW Insider brings you The Light and How to Swing It for holy, protection and retribution paladins. Every Sunday, Chase Christian invites you to discuss the finer side of the paladin class: the holy specialization. Feel free to email me with any questions you want answered, like why paladins are so awesome.

Since patch 4.1 went live, I have been noticing some irregularities with my mana bar. I don’t check it too often, as I’m usually focused on my raid’s health instead. As expected, I watch my mana the most when it’s running low. It seemed as if I was both gaining and spending more mana than usual, and so I started doing some research. A few threads on the WoW official forums revealed that there were others seeing the same sort of issues and that Seal of Insight and Judgement were the main suspects.

The initial reports that I found indicated that holy paladins were actually being robbed of mana after using Judgement. We normally gain mana after Judging, due to its interaction with Seal of Insight. The issue was that when casting a spell after Judging, we’d somehow lose the mana that we had just gained. Judgement actually costs us some mana, though typically we recoup the cost from the mana it grants. If we’re not seeing a return from Judgement with SoI active, then we should actually stop Judging on cooldown. Luckily for us, that’s not the whole story of what’s happening.

Every week, just at the start of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW Insider staff and ask them, “What are you playing this week?” — otherwise known as: WRUP. Join us to see what we’re up to in and out of game — and catch us in the comments to let us know what you’re playing, too!

Welcome to the exciting world of Internet! We’re glad you wrote in to it today.

It sure is exciting to be alive here in good ol’ 2011. Sure, we may be in the middle of three wars and our economy may stink. But we have Internet! A giant computer network that brings us “lolcats,” “podcasts,” “twitters,” and all sorts of other stuff that will sound painfully outdated fifteen years from now.

Need proof of how powerful this Internet thing (which you’ve probably been reading about in magazines) is? Well, this weekend, yours truly is heading in to Boston to catch a Chris Hardwick show. Some of you may recognize him as host of the second most popular basic cable television show on the subject of Internet video clips. Hardwick does a podcast, too. Ironically, it gets more listeners than his TV channel gets viewers. Dude makes his living off nothing but Internet. And I’m jealous.

Anyway, while we’re here on this computer bulletin board, we may as well check in with the rest of our staff and see what they’re playing this weekend. And heck, because we care, let’s check in with you and see what you’re playing, too! Isn’t technology just the best?

This may seem like common sense to a lot of people, but it came up as an issue recently on the official Customer Support forums. The message is simple: Don’t file false GM tickets. Whether you’re doing it to get back at someone you dislike, to play a prank on someone, or just because you’re bored, don’t do it.

Support forum agent Nevalistis points out that false reports are is against the Game Master interaction policy. Each GM petition is taken seriously, and if the GMs see a pattern of frivolous or false reports, they can and will take action from warnings all the way up to suspension or permanent account closure.

Those of us who have tried to petition a GM lately know how long the queue times are — so from all of us with legitimate problems, please make sure your ticket is legit. It may save your account, it may save a GM’s sanity, and it’ll certainly help those with real problems get the help they need a little faster.

Comic news: Kelly Aarons of WoW, eh? drew a comic about her time at PAX 2010, and Silkspinner of Complex Actions drew a blog post/comic about her experience as a canary. Glad you’re okay, Silk! Guilded Age has started its 7th chapter, and we even have a bonus comic this week from Working Daze.

New to the list:

  • Blood and Thunder! Let’s start with the first one, and next week I’ll begin posting the latest.
  • Kuo: I’m Just Here to Dance! SMF used to feature Kuo, before it went on a hiatus. Thanks for the tip that it is posting again, Coffinshaker! Also check out Keen.
  • Check out Arena-Inside, from the beginning.
